2013 Blanc de Blanc, Late Disgorge, Russian River 12.1% 750ml
Our winemaker notes... "as with all of our wines ‘food friendly’ is the goal, and believe me she is ready to take on this role at the drop of a hat. But perhaps on this occasion, as an aperitif is where she shines, brightening up our palates and senses to embrace any season ".
BAZZANO- Cordon pruned on a Quadrilateral Vertical Shoot Positioned trellis system.
Clone 4, also known as one of the ‘Martini’ clones, planted on 5C root stock
The Bazzano Vineyard is located on the low lying Santa Rosa plain in the heart of the Russian River Valley.
This site is heavily influenced by the cooling onshore winds from the Pacific Ocean, but more specifically by the early morning fog pattern which is driven from the south and can often remain until the late morning; especially during the critical ripening months of late summer. It is this influence that maintains the crisp level of acidity in the fruit, an essential component for this varietal.
The Martini Clone is known for producing robust crops, that when associated with the ‘Dry Farming’ practices and the deep alluvial soil of this site, will allow us to create a unique balance in the vineyard and achieve some exceptional long ‘hang time’, which in turn is associated with complexity and depth of fruit in the finished wine.
