The Grand View Vineyard is planted in well drained sandy loam soil. The UCD clone 1 is on a NE facing slope which gives loads of morning sun but protects from the hotter afternoon sunlight. Yield: 3.1 tons/acre.

Winemaker Notes
The 2023 vintage will go down as one of the most phenomenal vintages in California history. Higher than average rainfall kicked off the growing season which led to a successful bloom. A cooler spring led to a growing season that was 14 days behind 2022. The vineyard remained cool with plenty of sunshine and little moisture allowing for long hang times and preservation of acidity. We picked late with low sugars, balanced chemistry and mature tannins. Perfect!!
