About
Vineyard Notes
Vineyard Notes
This extraordinary wine comes from Mountain grown Cabernet Sauvignon, Petite Verdot and Cabernet Franc grown in the esteemed Rockpile Vineyard set high in the Rockpile AVA at 2000 feet above sea level. Paradise Ridge has been working with these same vineyard blocks for over 20 years, which has evolved to a level of understanding where we can now harvest the fruit from ‘our’ blocks at an optimum level of ripeness, allowing us to truly showcase the flavors of Rockpile.

Winemaker Notes
As the above alludes to – we develop and create this wine in the vineyard, so at the winery we can, through careful and diligent wine making tease out the uniqueness from each grape during the fermentation process. The wines are then aged separately for several months letting individual characters evolve. The next stage of blending allows us almost limitless computations to make our ‘Barrel Select’ blend. Striving for focus, complexity and balance while at the same time showcasing that very special place ‘Rockpile’ in our ‘house’ restrained style. The Petite Verdot although robust actually brings a pretty floral, a blue fruit component to the blend, while Cabernet Franc’s bright red fruit, keen acidity and an earthy fragrance brings both complexity and charm to the finished wine.
